FAQ

How would you describe your photography style?

I love authentic images that are filled with emotion. I love warm earth tones that complement our beautiful PNW colors. I seek out genuine moments that make me FEEL something.

Most photos are lightly posed, meaning I’ll help get you into place first and then encourage interaction and real expressions by directing you with play and prompts to help you engage with each other while I document it all.

You never have to worry about what you'll do or how you need to act in front of the camera, I'm here to guide and direct you every step of the way. :)

I make sure to get a mix of both traditional posed photos as well as the candid documentary kind that I love. I want you to have authentic memories in both styles!

I am FOR: Genuine smiles, tickle fights, personality, playing chase, slobbery dogs, creativity, being yourself. My GOAL: To capture the emotion & connection between each of you. This life is precious and I’m here to celebrate your beautiful, imperfect selves.

When will my images be delivered?

Eeeee! I love this part! I know you're excited and I'M always so excited for my clients to see their love captured and how beautiful they are.

Your gallery will be delivered no more than 2 weeks from the date of your engagement or family session, and 6-8 weeks for weddings.

But feel free to contact me anytime before delivery if you have any questions or concerns!

Where will our photoshoot take place?

Sessions take place either outdoors or in my clients’ homes. For outdoor sessions, I provide my booked clients with a list of beautiful location suggestions, and am always excited to hear about new suggestions if my clients have a preference!

Travel is included within an hour of Issaquah, WA. A $75 per extra hour of travel will be applied to any location farther than one hour from Issaquah, WA (ex: if the session is 2 hours away, $150 will be added to the invoice for the extra hour of travel to and from the location).

I am a natural light, on location, or in your home photographer. Together we will choose the perfect location for your session! Newborn sessions are held at your home or in the hospital.

Can we do an In-Home Session even if our house is tiny/messy/dark?

YES!!! I’ve worked in plenty of clients’ homes, and I’ve never found one that didn’t work.

There is always a beautiful little patch of light that’s perfect for photography! I’m used to photographing in a variety of homes. If it’s home to you guys, that’s all I need to work with!

And PLEASE don’t worry about any mess — nothing fazes me! If needed, I’ll help you move furniture/clutter around as we go.

What happens if it rains? /Someone gets sick?

I keep a number of backup dates for my photoshoots in case of bad weather or unforeseeable circumstances. There is no fee to reschedule to a new date if it’s raining or if someone gets sick. However, I'm always down if you are to do a rainy day, clear umbrella photoshoot too!

Washington weather is notoriously unpredictable and changes very quickly, so I typically dont like to call off a session until the morning of the session. I always keep a close eye on the weather days before a shoot and will keep you posted!

And if it rains on your wedding day - that's supposed to be good luck!! That's what I heard anyway. I have some super cute clear umbrellas that photograph really well, and we'll just end up making some steamy, romantic, intimate, true PNW style memories. :) I promise you wont be disappointed.

What if you cancel or cant attend my wedding?

Don't fret, my love, I haven't yet not been able to attend a wedding. :) But, as with any supplier, it is possible an emergency or illness could prevent me from attending your wedding (I'd have to be hella laid up though if that's ever the case).

In this VERY unlikely event, I will do my utmost to find a similar style photographer replacement from my trusted network of professional wedding photographers. In my experience from what I've seen within my network, there is always a talented photographer available to help if needed last minute.

If this is not possible, then the final, and absolute worst and last case scenario is that I will refund the money you have paid me.

What if my kids don’t cooperate?

I absolutely adore little ones and their own unique personalities and how they see things. Even the ones who are shy/stubborn/bubbly/talkative/you name it!

Photoshoots can be awkward and scary for adults, so I can imagine what a child might think or feel about coming into one. Some are ready to bring out their inner Beyonce, some just wanna go explore, and others just want to hide behind mom.

And all of that's ok.

I always approach the session as a new friend who’s just there to play and have a good time. I have all the patience in the world, and I find that being easy-going translates to happy kiddos.

Not every moment of the session may be perfect, and that’s totally ok — in fact, it’s encouraged! In 10 years, I’m willing to bet that you’ll cherish the image of your toddler crying fake tears just as much as the one that we took 10 seconds later of him happily running toward the camera.

My goal is to capture the personalities of the kids in front of my lens, including all of the beautiful quirks, details, and small moments that make up childhood.

One thing I want you to take away from this, is no matter what kind of attitude or behavior your kiddo may show during our time together - it's all ok. I promise. :) All you need to do is try to relax and focus on just engaging and interacting with your family.

I'll take care of the rest. <3

I’m not photogenic at all!

Believe it or not, almost everyone tells me this before their session - and it never turns out to be true.

I love guiding my clients through having their photos taken, and I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to make you look fabulous! When you’re having a great time, you’ll look more beautiful than you thought was possible.

And I want you to know and understand something: we always notice our own flaws WAY more than anyone else may notice them - if they even notice at all.

All kids see when looking at a photo of their mother is their beautiful mom.

All your partner see's when looking at a photo of you at your engagement or wedding, is how much they love YOU.

They dont see what you see. They just see someone they love. Always try to remember that.

What Happens if your equipment breaks?

We all know that from time to time technology can sometimes run into some issues. However, I make sure I have enough equipment to bring as a back-up on the day. I keep all my equipment well maintained so rest assured that I have taken every step I can to prevent problems and protect your images.

For extra peace of mind, I also always shoot onto dual SD cards in the camera simultaneously, which ensures multiple copies of each image, I make sure to back up the photos in 3 separate places after each session and wedding as immediately as possible, and I NEVER delete the photos from the original SD card until after gallery delivery.

Even after gallery delivery, I keep all your photos backed up in multiple locations for 5 years in case anything happens to your own personal copy for any reason.

Where should I print my images?

You can purchase prints, canvas', and more straight from your online gallery! Your heirlooms will be printed by a professional printing lab and delivered straight to your door.

I do not recommend printing your images at Shutterfly, Target, Walmart, CVS, or Costco. These labs are not designed to handle printing professional photography.

But I aint your momma, and I'm not going to know where you get them printed (just do it though cuz it's important). I do have to let you know, though, that I cant guarantee the quality or accurate image colors if you print from any other lab other than the one connected to your gallery.
